Iowa Western Community College has been selected as a recipient of a round three Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) grant provided through the Department of Labor. Housed in Iowa Western’s Computer Information Technology department, grant activities will support a Credentials to Careers effort with the goal of answering the call to train and support highly demanded IT workers within Iowa as well as across the nation.
The Computer Information Technology (CIT) department at Iowa Western Community College (IWCC) is at the forefront of this industry’s expansion with cutting edge technology and course curricula designed to educate students of past, present and futuristic technologies. Department faculty and staff hold strong business connections across the state of Iowa and in the Omaha/Council Bluffs area to ensure students have the resources necessary to expand their knowledge and skills through internships, campus events and conferences. Program expansion, facility enhancements and alternative credit opportunities are just a few of the initiatives that will take place during the four year grant period.
